Greenway Committee flags deed exclusions, abutter concerns as state begins design work

Mark Asos, a member of the Greenway Committee, told the design team that some southern parcels may have deed exclusions that require review before construction. "My reading of the deed from the railroad is there may be two exclusions from the deed..." Asos said and offered to share specific documents so the team can confirm property limits.

Local residents and the historical society also urged sensitivity to abutters and historic resources near the proposed alignment. Tammy, who identified herself as president of the historical society and an abutter at 298 College Highway, thanked the team for acknowledging historical resources at the Route 10 canal corner and asked the state to ensure the Southampton portion receives focused attention so the gap can be completed. The design team said it will review deeds and coordinate with town staff on sensitive parcels and historic considerations.
