Town administrator: FY27 budget finalized; state earmark of $200,000 being pursued for North School

Town Administrator Scott opened the administrator's report by noting the FY27 state budget has been finalized and the cherry sheet (state aid) notices have been released. He said some categories of aid were higher than expected while some assessments rose, and that a $200,000 earmark being advanced by Senator Vilas would be helpful to North School if it is realized early in 2027.

Scott also noted that the finance committee is moving forward with a capital plan and has approved about $130,000 for infrastructure work at Norris School. He reported that the town qualified for the next phase of the MassTrails grant for the Greenway. The board discussed timing of school closeouts and certification of free cash, with estimates that some reconciliations could push into October.
