Code Enforcement Officer John Negra presented two matters for 960 Olive Court. First, Negra described multiple dead trees and a large dead palm at the front and side of the property and said notices were issued for pruning and maintenance; an encroachment issue had been abated. The City recommended a $150 fine and $50 costs; the magistrate found the violation proved and allowed 45 days to correct it or impose $100 per day thereafter, noting the homeowner is represented by an attorney and currently in assisted living.
Second, the City presented two additional violations for litter and debris at the same address, including sand and debris on the sidewalk creating a slip-and-fall hazard and discarded chairs and piles of debris. Negra reported follow-up inspections on June 16, July 1 and July 16 showing persistent debris. The magistrate accepted the recommendation of two $150 fines (total $300) plus $50 costs for the litter/debris and set the same 45-day compliance window.
