Public Safety Committee forwards civilian review and criminal-justice board appointments to council

Pamela Nichols, council management analyst, presented a vacancy report that identified openings and applications for the Civilian Review Board (including a reappointment and two initial applications) and the Community Criminal Justice Board (including a reappointment and initial applications). She also noted two mayoral vacancies for the Civilian Review Board and described staff coordination with the mayor’s office.

A council member moved to approve the appointments and the motion received a second on the floor. The committee voted by voice — Miss Aberbacher and Chair Trammell were recorded as voting "aye" — and the motion was approved to forward the appointments to council for final action.

No public hearing was requested on the appointments, and staff said they would continue coordinating with the mayor's office to fill remaining vacancies.
