Commission accepts Fire Station No. 3 and concrete intersection reconstruction projects

Public works staff recommended approval of a certificate of substantial completion for Fire Station No. 3 with Julius Goss Construction, noting the building was substantially complete on June 18, 2026 and that remaining punch‑list items are being addressed; staff asked the commission to authorize the public works director to sign the certificate and the commission approved the request.

Staff also summarized the 2026 concrete intersection reconstruction component of the pavement management program. Two intersections (18th & Ottawa and 20th & Dakota) were reconstructed; construction schedules and incentive payments resulted in a final project cost of $217,008.85. Staff recommended approval of the final change order (approximately $22,002.50) and formal acceptance, which the commission approved in a recorded vote.
