Seneca council denies request to lower temporary contractor water rate

City Manager and Recorder Raamin Burrell told the council a Tidewater Contracting representative had asked to buy water for the company's project on 17 Road at a reduced price. According to Burrell, the contractor "would rather pay $5.00 per gallon instead of the $10.00 per gallon as was set earlier in the year." Burrell provided the Tidewater representative with a copy of the signed resolution that establishes the current rate and asked them to review it.

Councilors discussed the request and decided not to lower the rate. Burrell told the representative to contact city staff after reviewing the resolution. The transcript records an inconsistency in phrasing of the approved rate (references to "$10.00 per gallon" and also a "$10/1000-gallon rate" in the packet); staff supplied the signed resolution to Tidewater for clarification.
