City staff pursues dust abatement on Strawberry Lane; Shirttail Creek Road funding uncertain

City Manager Raamin Burrell updated the council on local road matters at the July 9 meeting. She said she has been working with Alan Hickerson at the Grant County Road Department to arrange dust abatement work on Strawberry Lane.

Councilor Melissa Pettyjohn raised concerns about Shirttail Creek Road's condition. Burrell said she contacted the local Forest Service liaison to ask either that Seneca's request be moved higher on the Federal Lands Access Program (FLAP) grant approval list or that the road be removed from the federal lands access list so the city could pursue non-federal funding. Burrell told the council no decision had been reached and staff would continue to pursue options.
