Superintendent lays out measurable goals tied to board priorities

During the work session the superintendent presented a set of goals he said were pulled from the priorities document and from state leadership standards, framing them as measurable actions the administration would pursue this year. On community engagement he said the district will “conduct monthly sessions with at least one community agency” and hold family engagement opportunities at school sites, and described success indicators the administration will bring back quarterly.

On instruction, the superintendent described an instructional framework intended to align K–12 teaching expectations, mentoring for new teachers, and use of dashboards to identify and support teachers and schools. He told the board these goals would be monitored and reported quarterly so trustees could “know how we’re doing” and decide where board attention is needed. Board members pressed for clearer, measurable outcomes and asked the superintendent to limit the number of principal goals to make evaluation manageable.
