Council approves Everhome Suites site plan with minor landscape variance

Council approved a site plan for a four-story Everhome Suites hotel and granted a variance to a landscape-strip width where parking and an amenity encroach on the required buffer.

Planning staff described the project as a 120-room hotel with 120 parking spaces and said the package otherwise met the Unified Development Code except for a reduced landscape strip along Northport Drive where parking and amenities encroach; "there's only about 6 to 7 feet provided" in the encroaching area, the planner said. Council discussed parking depth and access-lane clearance and noted that the frontage landscaping on the visible side of 114 meets the town’s standard.

Representatives for the project were present; the council moved and approved the site plan unanimously.
