Clay County sets precincts, poll worker fees and polling places for 2019

At its Jan. 3 meeting the Clay County Commission adopted Resolution #2019‑01 to establish election precincts and polling places for 2019. The board named polling locations across Clay County — including the Vermillion National Guard Armory, the 4‑H Center/Fairgrounds and local hall venues for rural wards — and recorded the roll call vote approving the resolution.

The commission also passed Resolution #2019‑02 setting 2019 pay rates for precinct election officials: base fees were set at $175 per official and $200 for election superintendents, with mileage and fixed meeting compensation for training. The resolutions included allowances for poll‑book delivery and ballot‑tabulation travel. County Auditor Carri R. Crum was directed to implement the changes and manage training and equipment provision for the election cycle.
