The Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services told the committee it plans to extend several purchase-of-service contracts tied to housing services and transition supports through 2027. "We are just extending the length of the contract, into 2027," the department representative said, describing the action as an informational report that does not change contract dollars.
The presentation said extensions include housing-navigation and discharge-planning work with the Community Resource Center, MiWayOut, and an evaluation partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin tied to a Bureau of Justice Assistance grant. The office also said contracts for domestic-violence housing services with the Benedict Center and Community Advocates are set to run from Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2027. Committee staff noted the item was informational and also referred to the committee on finance; no vote or fiscal amendment was taken at the meeting.
