Community groups and media praise Office of Equity at county committee

Several public commenters used their allotted time to praise the Office of Equity's community partnerships and outreach. Jamila Carney, board president of Hill the Hood MKE, said the office provided financial capital and staff support that allowed the grassroots group to expand volunteer and planning capacity; "We are just immensely grateful," Carney said.

Michelle Bryant, a radio host at WNOV, described the station's partnership with the Office of Equity as increasing listener awareness of county services and building trust. "People are seeking help for themselves and for family members," Bryant said. Danielle Johnson of Safe and Sound thanked the office for recognition and partnership, saying the collaborations strengthened community impact and cited the inaugural health equity champion award presented by the office.
