Commissioners approve November election dates, vote centers and ballot-board appointments

The court spent several items on administrative approvals for the Nov. 3, 2026 general election. Judge Parrish noted this was Roxanne Stinson’s final court appearance before her retirement; Stinson and staff were recognized and the judge presented a flag flown over the courthouse in her honor.

On election logistics, the court approved early voting dates and times, procedures to allow provisional-voter ID cures under Texas Election Code provisions, the list of election day vote centers, a joint election resolution, and named the elections office at 1308 Crickets Avenue as the main early voting location. The court also appointed Ronald Gallagher as early-voting ballot-board presiding judge and Beth Shapiro as alternate, and later approved the same pair for central count presiding and alternate roles.

The court and staff discussed possible facility changes if Senate Bill 2753 (referenced by staff) changes polling-location requirements in future elections and the county may need more room at the main early-voting site. The election items were presented as routine and carried by voice vote.
