Planning Commission approves reversion of acreage for two Yerington parcels; developer says future mobile home park planned

The Yerington Planning Commission on June 24 unanimously approved a Reversion of Acreage application for two parcels with APNs 001-311-02 and 001-491-08, a measure the commission will forward to the City Council for final action.

Greg Chico, PLS, introduced the application on behalf of YMV Development. When asked about planned uses, Nora Stevens said the applicants "are working with Bighorn Consulting and that eventually it will be a mobile home park." City Manager Jerry Bryant told commissioners both parcels are zoned RC and "are compatible for the Reversion and zoning would not require a change," saying the proposal aligns with the city's Master Plan compatibility for that zoning designation.

Commissioners also discussed existing easements on the eastern parcel. "The easements were previously put in place by the City during the water/sewer rehabilitation project but were never utilized," said Greg Chico. City Manager Bryant said the City would likely approve a new parcel map in the future and sees no reason the easements cannot be removed at that time.

Commissioner Micah Triplett moved to approve the reversion as submitted; Commissioner Leo Solari seconded. President Steve Douglas asked for public comment; none was given and the motion carried unanimously. The commission's recommendation will be transmitted to the Yerington City Council; staff noted a future parcel map process may be used to address the unused easements.
