Selectboard hears FY26 Q4 financial report; water and sewer rates flagged as not keeping pace with expenses

Town Manager Karen Astley summarized preliminary fourth-quarter FY26 department allocations and projected expenses, noting the figures are preliminary and the total fund balance recorded in the minutes is $306,726.39 pending audit. She reported that water and sewer rates are not keeping pace with expenses and that surplus funds had been used to offset tax burdens.

Board member Howard Fairman asked for the Sidewalk Fund balance; the Town Manager said she would provide that figure after the meeting. The Selectboard indicated it will revisit final fund balances once the audit is complete.
