Council authorizes bids for tuckpointing at Fire Station No. 1

Fire Chief Dan Meyer summarized prior tuckpointing work at Station No. 1 and explained that the east wall of the apparatus bay still requires work — notably around roof scuppers where grout is missing — while other parts of the building were power-washed and sealed. The department had budgeted $45,000 for the work and requested authorization to publish a solicitation for bids to complete the remaining tuckpointing.

Council authorized the solicitation by roll call. Staff said the previous contractor concentrated on the south wall and that completing the east wall would wrap up the more serious repairs identified in the prior inspection; exact bid results and a contract award will return to council for approval.
