Council approves multiple Eastside/Downtown TIF grants for façade and residential rehab

Council considered six separate resolutions under the Downtown and Eastside TIF programs to support façade renovations and a residential rehabilitation project. The city read each resolution into the record and recorded vote results. Examples: the Sterling residential rehab at 614 N. Edward Street was approved for payment not to exceed 90% of eligible costs or $2,106 (whichever is less); downtown façade grants included awards up to 66% of eligible costs or capped amounts (for 104 N. Side Square, 106 N. Side Square, 17 E. Side Square, 217 N. Randolph St., and 124 S. Lafayette St.), with specific dollar caps recorded in each resolution.

Council noted applicants were present for several items and roll-call votes recorded 'Aye' majorities in each case; recusals were recorded where council members had conflicts (for example, Wynn recused on several downtown façade items). Each resolution carried and the funds will be applied per the TIF program rules, with each award limited to the lower of a percentage of eligible costs or the stated cap.
