Council considers alternatives for a failed mural wall; building wrap suggested as lower-cost option

Council members reported that the original wall selected for a community mural proved structurally unsuitable after a local business examined the stucco and took samples. With that wall deemed expensive to repair, council members said they had identified an alternative wall near the farmers market and will contact the current owner to request permission for painting or a building wrap.

Members discussed the wrap option as a less expensive alternative to painting and suggested a market-themed design because of proximity to the farmers market. Council directed staff to research ownership, costs and potential vendors (one local vendor, Ad Graphics, was mentioned as a provider of wraps) and to return with options.
