O'Mara demonstrated the town's MapGeo geographic information system, which hosts assessor maps, aerial photos and property boundaries and allows users to search properties (she used the town hall parcel as an example). She noted the system shows property record cards with ownership and assessed values and includes links to deeds for many conservation parcels.

Using Winnick Woods as an example, O'Mara showed that deed documents are posted online and often include restrictive language (for example, that a parcel "shall be used for passive recreational activities only"). She cautioned that MapGeo is updated only once a year and is not accurate enough to replace a standard boundary survey for measuring setbacks or legal boundaries.
