Board votes 4–1 to acquire nine delinquent private roads in Countryside Estates using SPLOST funds

Commissioner Larry Hooks urged the Heard County Board of Commissioners to purchase nine private roads in the Corinth/Countryside Estates area that are being sold for delinquent taxes and to convert them to county gravel roads. The parcels named in the motion were Boogie Lane, River Court, Hammett Circle, Whitlock Drive, Judy Court, Whitlock Way, Jenny D. Lane Road, Flax Court and Flax Road.

After discussion, on a motion by Commissioner Hooks and a second by Commissioner Keri Denney, the board voted 4–1 to acquire the roads for the delinquent taxes due, have Chairman Lee Boone negotiate with the Heard County Tax Commissioner, and pay for the purchases with SPLOST funds. Commissioners Hooks, Denney, Hammond and Adams voted for the motion; Commissioner Gwen Caldwell voted against it.
