The vice mayor told the commission the Brentwood Veterans Monument fundraising campaign is aiming for a $1,500,000 goal and reported two significant early donations: a $100,000 gift and a $25,000 gift. "Every gift $1,000 and above will be recognized at the site, and there will be special recognition for all gifts that are $25,000 and above," the vice mayor said, and noted the fundraising committee will send thank-you letters and, once certain milestones are met, a letter from the full commission to donors.
The vice mayor urged community members to contribute and to help identify additional donors, saying that reaching roughly half the goal would allow the project to move from conceptual design toward final design and eventual construction. He asked commissioners and staff to assist in outreach and thanked current large donors by name in the conversation.
