Seneca council approves Dec. 10 minutes, pays bills and sets follow-ups

The Seneca City Council took several formal actions at its Jan. 14 meeting. Mayor Brad Smith asked for a motion to approve the Dec. 10, 2024 minutes; Councilor Barbara Northington moved, Councilor Suzanne Hood seconded, and "all were in favor," so the motion passed. Mayor Andrea Officer later asked for a motion to pay the bills; Councilor Northington moved, Councilor Matt Wenick seconded, and the council again recorded unanimous support.

Councilors also recorded several administrative follow-ups: staff were instructed to contact the Sheriff's Office to explore an IGA for code enforcement and nuisance abatement; a work session was scheduled for Feb. 4, 2025 to plan the council's annual calendar and priorities; and staff were asked to follow up on fire truck repairs and investigate heating options and an electric gate for the fire department. These items were entered as action items for staff.
