Pembroke commission approves $3,500 tree-service bid ahead of Old Home Day

The Pembroke Parks & Recreation Commission voted to accept a $3,500 bid for tree work aimed at clearing dead trees and concentrating service around the pine trees, the bridal field and the point field.

Chair Rose moved the item to the floor and a commissioner seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote. Rose said the contractor would also address a high willow tree that the town cannot reach from the ground and that the work was timed so it could be completed before Old Home Day. “He wrote to you what he did. He’s gonna do for 3,500,” Rose said when presenting the estimate. The commission indicated the amount was already in this year’s budget and that any additional work could be covered via the revolving fund if needed.

Next steps include contacting the contractor to schedule the work and confirming the exact scope; members agreed to authorize booking the contractor to ensure completion before the town’s Old Home Day events.
