Congressman Adam Smith visits Kent to discuss storm flooding, food access

Camp Mayor Dana Ralph said Congressman Adam Smith visited Kent last week and met with local residents and stakeholders to discuss the valley’s recovery from the December storm and ways to increase access to fresh produce through EBT/SNAP acceptance. "Talked about everything from, flooding in the valley back from our December storm and the impacts of that to the, ability to accept EBT and SNAP, for fresh produce and vegetables," she said.

Ralph recounted that the visit began at a Central Avenue restaurant and continued at City Hall, where the congressman also met with local partners. The update did not include formal commitments or follow-up actions; Ralph presented the visit as part of ongoing engagement on infrastructure and food-access issues.
