Council adopts code update to align subdivisions and planning rules with state law (O-03-2026)

The Lantana Town Council on July 27 adopted Ordinance O-03-2026 on its second reading to revise the town’s subdivision and planning regulations to align with recently enacted state requirements.

Development Services Director Nicole Dritz explained the ordinance "updates the town code to allow align with the state requirements" and that there were "no changes between 1st and 2nd reading." She said the changes move certain procedural matters to staff-level administration to conform with state mandates. The planning commission recommended approval 5–0 at its prior meeting.

After no public comment, the council moved, seconded and approved the ordinance on second reading with a recorded vote of 5–0. The ordinance repeals and renumbers multiple sections and appendices in Chapter 17.5 and adopts conforming language to state law.
