Subcommittee outlines redevelopment grant eligibility and 70-point scoring threshold

A subcommittee presentation laid out how the DDA’s redevelopment/demolition grant will be evaluated, including required eligibility conditions, a public notice period and a scoring rubric. The presenter said applicants would be given public notice and that the subcommittee would score applications; "we're gonna score at least 70 points or higher in order for the subcommittee to recommend approval to the board," the presenter stated.

Board members discussed operational steps to prevent ineligible projects from advancing to the board and noted the importance of applicant-provided screening documentation, including demolition clauses and vendor/site visits. The subcommittee plans to average the three reviewers’ scores and only forward applications that meet the stated threshold for full board consideration.
