Supervisors approve $85,000 in opioid-settlement funding for dental clinic and defibrillators

The Dallas County Board of Supervisors voted July 28 to approve recommendations from the county’s Opioid Settlement Oversight Committee to allocate $85,000 from the county opioid settlement fund. The committee reported a current balance of $444,485.33 and recommended $5,000 to the Iowa Dental Foundation to support the Iowa Mission of Mercy event and $80,000 to the Waukee Fire Department to purchase LIFEPAK monitor/defibrillator machines for overdose responses.
