New Market council approves consent agenda, $60,347.89 in claims

The New Market City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda at the July 16, 2026 meeting, a package that included the agenda, minutes from June, claims covering city departments and affiliates totaling $60,347.89, June financial reports and reconciliations.

Council member Mike DeVoe moved to approve the consent agenda and Jake Daly seconded; the motion carried with all members voting in favor. The consent package listed financial documents including the treasurer's spreadsheet, income-and-expense statements, balance sheet and budget-vs.-actual reports for June 2026.

The council opened the floor for the Citizen Forum, committee reports, and department reports; the minutes record the openings but do not record substantive public comments or department presentations in the transcript. During Old Business the council asked staff to revise a proposed yearly agreement form for chicken owners so it covers all fowl and asked that the updated form return for consideration at the August meeting.
