The county recreation director (speaker 10) updated the board on pool programming and staffing, asking for permission to hire a lifeguard and to continue senior swim aerobics in morning hours.
The director thanked local partners and parents for supporting recent swim lessons and said a third session of lessons is scheduled to begin Tuesday the 21st through the 31st at $60 per session (eight days per session). The director requested board approval to hire a new lifeguard and said the position would be paid to Joe Higdon for lifeguard coverage; a supervisor moved to approve pending HR signature and the board seconded and approved the motion.
The recreation director also asked to continue senior swim aerobics from 6:00 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. and to add weekday evening water aerobics; the board confirmed those schedule adjustments and asked staff to publish rules (for example, restrictions on large bags) to patrons. The director closed by reporting that pool revenues since the last meeting were $3,375.50 and asked for clarification on part-time vs. full-time hours for an employee; HR-related questions were to be followed up with county personnel staff.
