Select Board fills Budget Committee seats and votes to cap membership at seven

The board approved multiple appointments to town committees at the July 9 meeting. Jim Tyrrell moved (seconded by Thomas Kingsbury) to appoint Tess Dana to the Parks, Open Space and Beautification Committee and Dylan Harry to the Conservation Committee; both motions passed unanimously. Tyrrell also moved to appoint Tom Klinepeter and Jeff Owens to the Budget Committee; those appointments passed unanimously and brought the Budget Committee membership to seven.

Select Board Chair Greg Huang-Dale then proposed a motion to formally cap the Budget Committee at seven members. Huang-Dale's motion, seconded by Thomas Kingsbury, passed 3-1 with Jim Tyrrell recording the lone opposition; board members discussed historical committee sizes and noted additional applications remained pending. Board staff indicated at least one additional application had been received.
