Commission approves small outpatient infusion clinic at East Beltline shopping center

The Planning Commission approved a special land use and site plan review to establish an outpatient infusion clinic at 2211 East Beltline Ave NE.

Staff said the clinic will occupy a former retail bay in a shopping center, with unobstructed storefront windows and treatment rooms set back for patient privacy. The applicant, Andrew Auger of Corwell Health, told commissioners the clinic would provide hydration therapy, antibiotic and iron infusions by appointment and is not intended to provide oncology infusions or controlled substances.

Staff and commissioners concluded the use is compatible with the plan redevelopment district and would generate fewer trips than the prior use; commissioners added standard permit conditions. The motion to approve carried by voice vote.
