Finance committee reviews solar hot water RFP; staff estimates $2.25 million over three years

Procurement staff told the Albuquerque Public Schools Finance Committee that the district issued an RFP for solar hot water system design, installation and on‑call services and recommended a multiyear contract for up to three years. "This is for a contract up to 3 years, and it is an estimated spend of $2,250,000," the presenter said.

Member Courtney Jackson asked whether the $2.25 million listed in the materials represented the total projected spend across the three‑year term rather than $2.25 million per year. The presenter confirmed: "It is. The total spend, so it'll be for the 3 years, is estimated at 2.25" and reiterated that actual expenditures will depend on the district’s needs, the scope of services and availability of funds. Staff said any amount exceeding estimates would be returned to the Board for approval.

Committee members raised no additional objections, and the item was included in the consent recommendation to the full Board. The procurement presenter emphasized the figure is an estimate, not a guaranteed commitment.
