Committee reviews student behavioral‑health provider pool to supplement school counseling

District staff reviewed an RFP and recommended awarding multiple vendors to provide in‑school behavioral health services intended to supplement the district’s counseling staff. The presenter described the service as "behavioral health support, that is in addition to our counseling services," and said students are referred to vendor providers primarily by school counseling staff and the Health and Wellness team.

Committee members asked whether these vendors provide in‑depth clinical counseling beyond day‑to‑day support; staff replied the contracts are intended to cover additional behavioral health needs and referral pathways are in place through counseling staff. The committee included this item in the consent recommendation to the Board.
