Montauk arrest and a string of local public-safety incidents reported

LTV's public-safety roundup covered several incidents across the East End.

A 35-year-old man was arrested in the early morning of July 10 in Montauk on charges including DWI, criminal possession of controlled substances, resisting arrest, and property damage; officers said the driver was intoxicated and refused to exit his vehicle, prompting an officer to break the passenger-side window. In custody the man reportedly threw a bagel at a cell-wall and smeared cream cheese over a security camera.

The broadcast also reported an exposure incident on July 19 on King Street in East Hampton in which the caller confronted a man who had been observed with his genitals exposed; police found and questioned a subject who denied the behavior and the caller elected not to press charges.

Police arrested a trespasser after an attempted intruder crashed a reinforced wooden gate at the private property of Jay‑Z and Beyoncé on July 15; a witness in the security booth said the trespasser drove at high speed toward closed gates, collided, and then complied with orders to leave the vehicle and sit on the curb until police arrived.

LTV also reported a near-accident on Main Street in Sag Harbor on July 13 when a child (estimated age 3–5) ran into the roadway but the driver swerved and avoided hitting the child; surveillance footage shows no injuries. Finally, the report noted two false active-shooter calls at SAG Pizza on July 13 and 15; police responded both times and found no signs of disturbance.
