Board says town on track to meet Tree City spending threshold; application due in September

Chair told the board that the Tree City application window opens in September and that the town's planned tree plantings and public-works activities should exceed the $2 per capita spending goal required for Tree City recognition. "I am happy to report that work is continuing on forming up some numbers with public works. I think [we] will exceed our goal of $2 per capita easily," the Chair said.

Members had no detailed questions about the application pending; the Chair said the meeting on September 24 is the last regularly scheduled board meeting before the application deadline and that staff will finalize documents and counts for the filing. The board did not approve any new spending at this meeting; the discussion was informational and advisory.
