Board permits 41% lot coverage at 2117 Texas St. for accessibility improvements

Mark Markovich of Mark 1 Construction told the board he wants to move a 3‑foot sidewalk 18 inches to improve egress and to widen a driveway by 10 inches so a partially handicapped family member and a senior can access the home more easily. The request would raise lot coverage to 41% from the allowed 30% (petition 26‑10).

Department heads reviewed updated findings dated June 26 and said they had no further issues; staff told the board the revised package addressed prior concerns. A board member moved to close the public hearing and approve the request based on the June 26 findings; the motion was seconded and approved. Board members said they were satisfied the updated documentation supported the reasoning for the variance and that the adjustment was limited to the sidewalk/driveway changes described.
