Code enforcement reports 15–29 condemned properties, raises occupational-license concerns

Code Enforcement Officer Quiet told the board the department had taken samples for asbestos siding and reported 15–29 properties that have been condemned pending test results. Officer Quiet said crews have removed debris from some sites and the maintenance department has shut off water and gas on at least one property under enforcement actions.

Officer Quiet also raised concerns about occupational-license criteria after a property owner, Robert Connelly, reportedly retained junk cars on his property while holding what the minutes describe as a current occupational license. Resident Dianne Parker asked for clarification of the business type; Officer Quiet requested a meeting with the mayor and town attorney to discuss how to refine occupational-license criteria.
