Joint committee proceeds with presentations but adjourns for lack of quorum

Chair opened the meeting and, after noting the committee lacked a quorum to approve minutes, directed staff and presenters to proceed with scheduled agency reports. Analysts from Legislative Research and agency representatives presented capital improvement and lease proposals for Administration, Veterans Services, Corrections, KDAS, the Judiciary, Commerce and Children and Families.

Committee members asked clarifying questions throughout the session, and several members requested materials (including historical documentation on a proposal to reallocate capped racing and gaming funds). The chair declared the meeting adjourned for lack of quorum; no formal votes, motions or committee recommendations were adopted at this meeting.
