Board discusses invasive-plant treatment options, considers bid process and mechanical follow-up

David Paganelli reviewed a proposal from Redstart for chemical treatment of invasive plants at Ashley Forest and framed the discussion around procurement and long-term maintenance. He noted that if the board decides to pursue contractor work they should put the project out to bid for summer 2027; DP also mentioned Mike Bald of "Got Weeds" as a candidate for mechanical removal.

Board members discussed the extensive barberry along the southern boundary and procurement options with Sharon and Strafford. Kevin Gish agreed to consult with the towns about whether an RFP is required. DP characterized the management goal as reduction rather than eradication, saying an "80% control would be a reasonable goal," with the contractor expected to knock back growth initially and the board to maintain mechanical control afterward.
