Building maintenance reports repair costs, flooring and planned budget amendment

Richard, the building maintenance manager, gave the commission a detailed account of recent projects and costs. He said electrical work to move the jail nurse station cost $5,512, with an additional $1,600 expected for more outlets; replacement of a malfunctioning booster pump that fixed poor water on the third floor cost $2,582.

Richard also reported a second-floor flooring replacement in the Circuit Court building that cost $11,009.17 and repairs to a bucket truck that totaled $2,264. He told commissioners he expects to prepare a year-end budget amendment for equipment maintenance because cumulative equipment costs have reached a level that will require adjustment in that line item.

Commissioners praised maintenance staff for their work and asked questions about project approval and funding sources. Richard said most work is charged to the building-maintenance budget and that some projects are routine maintenance rather than capital projects.
