Council approves claims and payroll; publishes employee salaries and approves small community donations

The council voted to pay audited, approved warrants and reviewed monthly payroll and benefits totals. Reported payroll and benefits included General Fund $19,946.06; Enterprise Fund'Water $1,257.01; Enterprise Fund'Sewer $1,076.93. The minutes list many vendor claims by name and amount, including MidAmerican Energy utilities $1,705.88 and Loren Fischer Disposal $4,025.00.

In compliance with SDCL 6-1-10, the minutes published salaries and benefit information for elected officials and employees: Mayor $2,640 per year; council members $1,440 per year; Finance Officer Michaeleen Roark $45,973.72 plus $13,000 taxable health insurance and $3,000 taxable life insurance; Police Chief Dustin Sharkey $38,962.04 plus $13,884 taxable health insurance, and other staff figures. The council also approved $100 donations each to Dakota Valley After Prom and Elk Point Jefferson After Prom.
