Board approves repurposing high-school FTE into assistant-principal post at Lenoir City Intermediate

The board voted to repurpose a full-time high-school teaching position into a full-time associate assistant principal position at Lenoir City Intermediate to provide additional administrative support across problematic grade configurations.

Board members said the reassignment was discussed during budget season and that administrators (Mr. Coleman and Mr. Brandon) support having an associate assistant principal to help manage the middle-grade complexities. The proposing administrator told the board the high-school FTE became available due to scheduling and enrollment shifts and that the anticipated budget impact would be minimal, contingent on who fills the vacated role. The motion was made and seconded (Miss Pyle) and the board approved the repurposing.
