Board advances state-mandated policy revisions on first reading

The board approved numerous policy revisions on first reading during its July 23 meeting. The director indicated the revisions include several state-mandated updates and read a list of affected policy codes (examples called out: 302 and 303, along with others covering leave, conflict of interest, staff schedules, and director evaluation procedures).

Chair Chris Clabo and the director explained these are routine compliance updates the district must adopt; the board approved the first reading of the package by motion and recorded 'Aye' votes during roll call (Tammy Powell and Mitch Ledbetter were recorded as voting 'Aye'). The director said the policies will return in the next cycle for final adoption as required by state timelines.

No substantive operational changes were proposed beyond complying with state requirements; staff will continue to provide the board with the full language for subsequent action.
