Former Millbrae mayor says judge granted temporary restraining order allowing signature gathering

At a July 23, 2026 Millbrae City Council closed‑session meeting, former Mayor Anne Schneider told the council that Judge Healy in Department 28 of the San Mateo County Superior Court issued a temporary restraining order allowing her to collect signatures and begin the nomination process.

"Today, Judge Healy in Department 28 of the San Mateo Superior Court did give me a temporary restraining order to allow me to go forward and collect signatures and begin the nomination process on that," Schneider said during in‑person public comment. She added thanks to the judge and to the city clerk for arranging an appointment as she moves forward with her campaign.

The chair had earlier read the caption for the closed‑session agenda item, identifying the case as "Anne Schneider, Versiti of Millbrae, and city clerk collections official of the city of Millbrae, Superior Court of California, San Mateo County, case number 26CIV05490," and announced one in‑house speaker slip for "Miss Anne Schneider, former mayor Schneider." Schneider's remarks were made immediately before the council adjourned into closed session to consult with legal counsel under Government Code 54956.9.
