Board approves refurbished illuminated corner sign for Dramatic Hall at 900 Main Street

Designer (S4) described the Dramatic Hall proposal to reuse existing corner sign brackets and install a slightly smaller, internally illuminated aluminum sign that reads "Dramatic Hall." The existing Peekskill Central Market lettering on the building would remain; the new corner sign would be a stencil-cut aluminum face backed with plexiglass, internally lit with low-voltage LEDs at about 3,000 K.

S4 said the proposed sign reduces area from 27 square feet to 24 square feet and will be fabricated with a 0.125-inch aluminum face and a 6-inch depth. The applicant agreed to refurbish other building signs to match the new color palette and the board required an updated set of drawings that show all signs on both sides of the building so Building Department staff know the full scope. The board voted to approve the certificate as outlined.
