Resident group urges Bayonne to start promised TNR program amid surge in feral cats

Kathleen Henderson of the Bayonne Ferrell Cat Foundation asked the council to begin a promised trap‑neuter‑return program immediately, saying volunteers are overrun and animal‑control responses are inadequate. "We need help now, please," Henderson said, describing kittens with eye infections and upper‑respiratory illness and a shortage of foster homes and funding.

Henderson told the council the TNR program was a prior mayoral promise and appealed for a meeting with officials to start implementation. She said rescuers are doing what they can but cannot keep up without city resources and urged the council to designate staff or funding and coordinate with local rescues to begin trapping, spaying/neutering, and medical care.
