Superintendent outlines 90-day priorities, reorganization and safety work

Dr. Clark opened his superintendent's report by saying the presentation would update the board and community on progress he has made in his first months in the role, noting he presented a 90-day transition plan when interviewed and has been in the role full-time for 74 contract days. "I feel like I accomplished those objectives," he told trustees while outlining completed items and ongoing work.

He listed accomplishments including a reorganization of central reporting structures, adoption of the 26-27 budget, expanded campus visibility and professional-learning-community work; he also summarized audit findings and responses related to safety and security. On safety, Dr. Clark described a year-long learning plan for cabinet and campus leadership and said the district had hired additional officers and clarified pay and staffing with HR. He also said administration has engaged Civic Solutions Group to assist on long-range planning and that boardwalks (structured campus visits) will be used to align trustees' observations with the scorecard and evaluation work.

Trustees asked clarifying questions about prioritization and how the administration would tie campus visits and monitoring work to the superintendent evaluation. Dr. Clark emphasized alignment with board goals and said the district will present a quarterly monitoring schedule and a scorecard to help trustees track interim metrics.
