Trustees discuss communication systems, committee plans and PLC implementation guide

Administration proposed a set of tools to improve board-administration communications, including a redesigned Google site and a Google form for board information requests so that questions are tracked and archived. The presenter described the form'based workflow as a way to ensure trustees receive consistent answers and to avoid duplicate requests.

Trustees debated committee structure, the scope of committee duties and the timing of plans of work. Staff then presented a board-level professional learning community implementation guide and a proposed self-assessment exercise; one presenter asked trustees to reflect on four elements and 11 key actions to identify strengths and areas for growth. Trustees were asked to complete homework and return for follow-up governance work next month.
