County advances multiple road and right-of-way actions, and supports industrial access for Superior Airparts

Staff presented multiple transportation and right-of-way items, including a reimbursable agreement with Alabama Power for utility relocation on Natchez Trace Road (estimated $121,382) and right-of-way/easement agreements for Cottage Hill Road ($45,000) and Lundy Lane ($300). Several project advertisements and bid authorizations were introduced for forthcoming paving segments.

Staff also presented an industrial access sponsorship agreement with Superior Airparts Incorporated to support the company’s application for funding from the Alabama Industrial Access Road and Bridge Corporation and a related construction agreement with ALDOT to improve access at Radcliffe Road and Johnson Road to benefit Superior Airparts; staff said these actions would have no cost to the county. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about award status and project specifics and staff indicated they would provide additional details as needed.
