St. James authorizes supervisor to approve agreement with Peaine Township on millings responsibility

Peaine Township Supervisor Maria Dal Pra brought forward a draft Aggregate Surface Course (23A Modified) Agreement intended to govern responsibility for millings/aggregate surface materials. The St. James Township attorney had revised the draft to add clarity before the board meeting.

Dal Pra requested the draft be read aloud and explained that concerns had been voiced about materials and responsibility falling onto Peaine Township and its taxpayers. Board members questioned the motivation for the agreement and sought clarity about liability. After discussion and with acknowledgement that the agreement had attorney-reviewed edits, Cole moved and Peirano seconded a motion authorizing the Supervisor to approve the agreement; the motion carried.

After the meeting, Dal Pra asked that one paragraph be reread and noted the Peaine Township Attorney would not accept language that she said effectively passed responsibility to Peaine Township; she requested to be informed when attorney changes are made.
